I read this book during an Introduction to the Old Testament class in seminary. The book is a well-written, detailed overview of ancient Israel's history and how the Old Testament fits into it. The book is a little highly technical though and hard to digest at times. It is also an interesting read for those wishing for a challenge when looking at the Old Testament in terms of history.
